About PTU

Punjab Technical University was established by an act of the State Legislature on 16th Jan 1997, to promote technical, management and pharmaceutical education in the state at the degree level and above. The university has the mandate to set up Centres of Excellence in emerging technologies and for promoting training, research and development in these areas. The current focus of the university is to provide professional training to the masses.

The university has 425 learning centers spread across the country offering quality education in the field of Fashion and Beauty Technologies, Paramedical and Applied Technologies, Hotel Management and Tourism, Management, Media and Mass Communication & Journalism.

As of today, PTU affiliates more than 122 engineering, management, pharmacy, hotel management and architecture colleges in the state that are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). All courses are as per the university Grants Commission (UGC) nomenclature and guidelines referred to section 22(1) of UGC that make these courses internationally acceptable.

PTU is member of the Association of Indian universities (AIU) and also accredited by International University Accredited Association (IUAA) of USA.
