EIILM University, Sikkim is legislated by the government of Sikkim under the Eastern Institute of learning in Management University, Sikkim Act 2006 {Act no. 4 of 2006 No.28/LD/2006/Dated April 04, 2006 Published in the Sikkim Government gazette on April 17, 2006.The authorization letter has been issued by the Human Resource Development Department, Government of Sikkim, Tashiling, Gangtok Vide letter No.GOS/DTE/2005/Vlll {14}/100 Dated May 26, 2006. The Eastern Institute of Learning in Management University is also approved by Distance Education council on the recommendation of joint committee of UGC, AICTE,& DEC. EIILM University has appointed National Centre for Internship & Studies as an exclusive industry & education resource provider in accordance with the clause 7 {e} of Act {Objectives of the University} for Promoting the collaborative industry based education programmes throughout the country and abroad. Students, Industries and Institutions desirous of participating in CIB Education Programme can enquire from the Head Office of NCIS.

EIILM University, Jorethang, Sikkim,, is fully recognized and approved by University Grants Commission {UGC} Vide letter no. F.9-19/2007 {CPP-l} dated 09th May 2008 and is established under Sikkim State Legislature ACT No. 4, 2006, Government of Sikkim. The Act was notified and published under the government of Sikkim Gazette Notification No.28/LD/2006, dated April 3, 2006.
